Mansion
is an 8-man musical assault squad
that barrages one's senses with the power of Rock, (remember
when it was just called "Rock"?) but also colors the canvas
with the sensitivities of orchestrated winds done with jazz harmonies.
Larry just calls it "Heavy Metal Jazz" and
his imaginative writing once again carries you off, but down a "different
road", this time, taking well-known jazz standards outside of their
neighborhoods and into the "badder" sections of town.
For example, a headbanger version of Joe Henderson's "Inner Urge",
and "Invitation" as a Hip Hop/death-metal thrash.

Of
course there are also plenty of Larry A Williams compositions that further
drive this point home, but what really makes this work the way it does,
is the Headbanger Horn Guys. "I think we all wanted to rock out when
we were in our teens but because we - the horn guys- chose wind instruments,
we couldn't really participate. So there's plenty of attitude to go around."
Dogg Mansion is still a "work in progress" but a CD will soon be
on the way
